actually mattman, image uploading means you can upload an image into a folder on the server(tgc's) and have it displayed on the forums, it means, people with no webspace won't have to sign up to some scabby free service to show us their pics

How about a daily/weekly progress report

1) Estimated release date of next patch.
2) Bugs that have been fixed for the next patch.
3) What bug/feature is currently being worked on.
4) Forum users able to make comments.

It would be great to have up to date info that can be talked about.

How about a "Last Post: date" message under everyone's avatars, just so that people can see if the person is around any more or not (when browsing through old posts). Maybe just in the profile if it's not important enough to go under the avatar. They could probably choose to hide the info aswell.

I disagree, I think the list of Emoties could get too cluttered and large to sift through just to find that one basic smilie you're looking for. I have enough trouble as it is to find some. - And what's the point in half of them? Jaguar, Pooh!, Kiwi and Penguin...

I can read it, but it is very small. I suggest that Rich either makes it bigger or gives us the option to choose.

I've not had a chance to read through every since post here so this may have been mentioned before.

I would want an option to edit my existing posts and also to preview before I actually submit the post. Can you do this at the moment because there doesn't seem to be a way to do this. And that would be a couple of useful features.

Nothing would be what it is. Because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary-wise - what it is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be it would. You See?

Ooops! You can! Just noticed the little "Edit Post" under the avatar! Still I'd like to preview a new post before I submitted it.

Bah, I just found this in the codebase:

Now, first off, you can try to run it, it wont work. He's got everything screwed up! Line 2 and 3 of the code are either non-existant commands, or used wrong, and when he's printing the FPS, it'll disappear after a while! Whoever put this in the codebase must have been an ex-blitz user. That, or its some kind of joke. No one is that stupid!

Well then, my request is, allow mods to edit or delete entries from the codebase. Lord knows how many things there are in there that are useless or incorrect! Heck, I'd volunteer to moderate that cursed area if needed! It might even get to a point where its worse than Team Requests!

Well, those are my two cents.

Cheers,
Preston

The commands on line 2 and 3 simply don't exist. This was obviously submitted by someone 5 minutes after they found DarkBASIC. Frankly though, an example showing you how to make a cube is just a waste of space, it should not be there in the first place.

I second your suggestion Preston.

I remember searching the codebase and finding an entry on hello world. Obviously a hoax, as it was an entry containing on

print "hello world"

I third ya Preston.

@Rich(or anyone who can anwser)

I remember a while back about talk of some sort of developer diary area. I don't know if it was added to our profile or whatnot, but something like 500kb to post descriptions and a few images of our current projects. How's this going? or was it something I dreamed of?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.....

If you click on your profile button and look at the bottom it says in fairly large print:

Quote: "What other features are coming?

During Q2 2004 we will have the Projects area online. This area will let you maintain details about the projects you're currently working on here on this site and share them for all to see. You will be able to upload screen shots and keep an online development diary, receiving comments from other members."

Have noted in last few days that the 'last page' link on index pages does not work in threads with loads of pages. It tries to go a couple of page numbers higher than it should and as it doesn't exists defaults to page 1. Spcially noticable on this thread and the word association thread.

I was thinking about an option where you could choose to see how many times a post was viewed or how many times it was viewed since the last post.

yes, but you could choose if they show how many times it was viewed, or if they show how many times it was viewed since the last post

Is there any chance of having this:

repeated at the bottom of the page. Having read a page and wanting to go elsewhere it saves having to go to the top of the page first - a minor niggle but a niggle all the same.

Also - this:

Says that I am currently viewing page 7 of 7. If I want to view page 3 of 7 (for example) then I would change it to read view page 7 of 3! VERY BIZARRE!
It could do with changing so that it reads the other way around.

Thanks

That's because the first is the current page you're on and the second is the page you're going to. Changing it around would have an even worse effect. If there's 7 pages total and you're on page 3 then it would say: Page 7 Of 3

The way it is now serves to show how many pages total. I guess it could be redesigned to say: "Current Page 3 of 7. Change to Page: (Dropdown Box)" if you're really picky.

Was the more advanced search feature considered? Search multiple sub-forums as well as more than simply titles/subjects - the entire thread bodies.

Thatd make using the forums as a resource so much better - probably reduce the amount of repeated threads

I don't think you understand what I am saying. If you did then I am sure you would agree with me.

This is how it is now:

But this would make much more sense:

At the moment if I choose to view page 4, then I would select page 7 of 4 which makes no sense. Admittedly once I get to page 4 it does say that I am viewing page 4 of 7 which does make sense. It is just the way you have to select the new page that is a problem.

Doing it the way I suggest makes sense at all times.

Thanks for listening.

No, because what if you're on page 3 in your way. It would say:

The second number infers the current page you are on not the total number of pages.

He's right, Exeat.

What he means is the second number is meant to be the total number of pages - this shouldn't change.

But that's what I'm saying, it's not meant to be that. It's supposed to be the current page you're on!!!

You're more likely to forget or even care about what page you're on then how many there are in total.

I thought it was done like that so all you had to do was click the go button to be taken to the last page.
It would also look a bit stupid with the combo box a button in the middle of the text.

NO IT WOULDN'T!

When you failed to understand me the first time, I simplified things for you. I can't simplify it any more. I suggest you re-read my post. It isn't difficult.

I have stated that page 7 of 3 makes no sense and yet you continue to believe that I would want it that way around - why?

I would like something for the mods I would like a system, where mods can warn a user. If the user is warned 3 times, they are put on a temporary ban.
