Take a look at all the other poser titles that tried to imitate GTA like the game "25 to Life"(which sucked really bad),"Bulletproof",or whatever. Im sure you could come up with something.

I dont think this will suck though(hopefully not)

I'm getting ideas,

Dodic looks good. I'm going to make some adjustments though. Maybe a different model.

P.S.
Why 800x600?

Well, there are still some, not much but some people that dont have monitors that are made for 1024,788 and better, so i suggest the menu in 800,600 and to make abillity to select resolution in the menu for the game.

Hey i got my friend to give us some free webspace (MUCH better then 50webs, he has an hosting company, and he will give us 100mb`s, php,sql.... support, ftp acces and other acceses) -BUT SITE WILL BE CONFIGURABLE FROM IT SELF, so there will be little need to accesing site from ftp, only if you want to upload a file. Also we get forums and everything on one place.

(SAME AS MY SITE, JUST CLICK ON SIG TO SEE WHAT I`M TALKING ABOUT)

Stick around next few hours, and you`ll see

Chicago Run is a good name, i think we should stick to that, specially that i registred a third party domain with that name.. (and my friend is just setting up webhost acount up there, it would be rather "not nice"to ask him to change that..)

Good luck with the game. (hope u get a nice texture for the van too!)

Steve

PS Shame u got the name sorted, 'cos I thought "Carjack" was a good name, as that's the basis of the GTA series
(Also you forgot the texture

I ran it in dbpro, and the title goes over the buttons... and there are other "bugs", and i`m not sure if the moving texture looks too good, but beside that, i like it.

If i could work out the transparency problems, this would be so cool in classic...
The moving backdrop is the main feature...

Does DBC support .tga? Would that work?

Also: car physics are going to be a b****
What about ODE?

I`m not sure what ODE is, a dll ? I mean i saw the ODE demo (dbp), but i`m not sure what that means in dbc, and what it means at all "ODE" ? If so, we cant use it (sorry), and i suggest we finish this project up in DBC, so if that is ok with all team members, then we should continue, if you want in pro, i`m sorry i will not be able to work with you.

Driving engine is very doable, you just need to do some work, i already made a few working car engines in dbc (long time ago,i lost the files..) that were satecfieing.

I don't have DBP so I think it would be easier to stick to DBC. Open Dynamics Engine is the physics engine used in FPSC. I don't know much about it but here's the site:
http://www.ode.org/
It may be too much work to implement it anyway.

P.S.
You should really consider getting the DBC Enhancement

I know i should, but i have FPSC,DBP,DBC,T3DGM so i, well after buying dbpro, buying upgrade for dbc is ... "strange".

But it goes with darkmatter, i might buy darkmatter and get enchansement.

And if you know how to inplement ode, i`m for it.

As for site, i`ll do the hosting, and will enable attachement in the forums, so that you can host files, and it will all be nice under the forums on the site, nice, clear, clean, etc.

I as i said only know one ode example in dbpro, does it uses ode engine ?

edit : Oh, well, i will just buy the enchansement pack it self (i`m still ordering tommorow )

Gun and Ammo code(still designing)

I was wondering, what key do you want to use to change the weapon?

May not be compatible with DBC(i think it does), but it works with DBP:

It supports :
-Unarmed
-AK47
-Uzi
-A15
-M16
-MP5
-Shotgun
-Sniper
-Pistol

All you need to do is change the 'ammo' variable, 'maxAmmo' variable, and the 'clips' variable to best suit the gun.

Hope it works!

You can condense a lot of that code.
Instead of printing all gun info separate:
dim ammo(8)
print guntype$
print ammo(whatever gun you have)
clips=ammo(x)/bullets per clip

"extra bullets"= mod(ammo(x)/bullets per clip)

Isn't their case, select, and endcase commands for DBC? I wouldn't know, cause i have DBP, but that will save you a lot of code there.

edit: Title idea:"Windy City Life"?
