Thanks for the comments guys. Here are 2 new screenshots for you. They are both taken from the room leading up to the fuse room. I still have some small issues to sort out with transparency on the platforms, but every texture you see in this shot is custom. The only things left to do in this shot are to add a few entities to add some depth, and touch up a few bits of lighting.

Please leave feedback

Hey guys,
Here is a shot taken from the fuse room it's self. It's virtually complete. I just need to touch up a few things. I was pleased with how the custom texture on the barrell turned out

Is this all in the same area? Because alot of these segments are the same, or feel so anyway. Same floor texture.

I'd say it matters. If he's using the same segment in a ton of different environments, it's gonna feel repetitive (but I don't think this is the case).

im not saying your wrong, but Doom3 looks the same throught the whole game (either hell or metal corridors) and it was a hit. now i know that every room didnt look the same but neither do these.

F.E.A.R. pretty much had the same look over and over again, and it was a hit as well.

yeah thats true, though that was one of the things people didnt like about it because it was TOO repetative, i mean it was EXACTLY the same over and over and over and i like the game, but they need a new location. in the sequel ( Project Origin ) they fixed this: sometimes you're outside, in a school, in a hospital, in an office. so they did good on thatr one. ( yes there is a sequel and i got to see the first 20 minutes of it ) but no one seemed to care Doom 3 was repetative.

BOTB would be good but this should be on Spike's 2008 videogame awards!

Yeah... I killed off the sequel ideas.

Quote: "BOTB would be good but this should be on Spike's 2008 videogame awards!"

The game looks good... but Spike isn't going to give rewards in the indie section.

Also COZ, I want to help you in every way I can. I'm not here to rip you off or steal your media. I don't want a profit cut... I just want to help you build tis game if I can. If it's Okay with you... I would like to be involved in the general design as well. Also... with two on the case... repetitiveness can be stopped before it happens. Tell me what you think and I'm not going to share anything with anyone behind you. If you don't want me on the case then that is fine as well but I would like to reach farther than audio of forum director if that is alright with you.

Looking great. I love how much time and effort you (And your team) have put into this Shows alot of dedication. Keep up the good work!

I read a complaint a while ago that the test game was too linear. You've probably sorted that out by now. I thought it would be a cool idea for your slum level or village level (Not sure which your on now) to havea more free roaming area, where you'd have to explore different areas solving some sort of large scale puzzle which allowed you to move on to the next level. Just an idea

Looks brilliant

Hey,
Thanks for the comments. Now for some replying:
@Inspire:
Quote: "Is this all in the same area? Because alot of these segments are the same..."

It's all the same area as such. This is from the more sewerish, grungy part of the tunnels (at the end section of the level). As for the floor texture, it's a fair point, but i thought it was a good texture that would fit the kind of, run down, grungy feel. Ill have to make some more textures for the slums level of course.
Quote: "Sent you a email.."

Yes i got it. You have given me a bit to think about. I have replied with my thoughts, but i need your opinion.

@Chees hed: Thanks for the comment dude. Im not sure about Spike's video game awards though

@Snipesoul: I agree. It had a bit of a concrete with everything look though

@ASTEK:Give me a few days. I need to think about some things first. Ill reply as soon as I have made my desision.

@Butt monkey: Thanks!!

coffee grunt@ Thanks, the linear problem has kind of been sorted out, but it's ever so hard to overcome completely due to some of the limitations involving FPSC. Also, im not 100% sure on the idea of free-roaming and 'large' scale puzzles due to it might ruin a few things, but ill write it down on my 'maybe' list.

@General announcement: Unfortuneatly, I am back to work from tomorrow onwards, so i might be a bit more tied up than usual, but ill make sure ill squeese in as much game dev as possible over the weekends and at the end of the week. I should be ready to start on level 4 (slums), as soon as level 3 is polished.

Stay tuned guys

This game is unbelieveable!! It's amazing how someone can manipulate the FPSC engine into producing amazing results! This game has actually given me some inspiration in some of my own levels. Thanks CoZ.

Understood... something like this can be a lot to swallow. I'm not asking to warp the story or develop a sequel ( Which was pure crap... I have no idea where I got the idea for that... )

Take your time...

Thanks for the comments guys. I have been rather busy over the last few days with work etc so i haven't had time to get down to some game dev. I am currently to sort out the fact the my CD ROM drives won't read my Crysis Disk (even though it works on every other PC in the house), and all other games work fine

The weekend is fast approaching so i should be able to get down to some work at around Saturday/Sunday

Stay tuned

I assume Crysis comes on a DVD, don't you need a DVD ROM drive to read the disc?

@Opposing force : Your right.I have 2 DVD drives.

@Everyone else: I finally got my Crysis disk working and thus have fallen victim to it's charm over the past few days. I have also been preparing for a couple of exams i have at the end of next week (yes again), so it has left me withe little game dev time during the week it's self (apart from weekends). I shall be working on DS in my spare time, and if all goes well regarding time, a demo should be appearing on this thread late next week.

It's now time for me to go back into my DS cave

Stay tuned

ANYTHING or leaving anything unprotected. You can trust in me COZ. Like I've said before... I've watched from the early days and have always favorited this thread and would love to do nothing more than to build onto it. I wont no share in the sales AT ALL if you don't want so. I don't feel the need for any.

I think Chees Hed was talking about a game thread in the FPSC boards. I could be wrong though

, The person who manages to be the 1000'th person to post on this thread gets a free copy of DS. Just thought id add some fun to it.
