Alpha Project is an FPSC game. I've been working on Alpha Project for 5-6 months now, getting the main aspects of the game down. The game origonated from another project I started way back in 2005, but the story has been changed and everything different, so it's more or less a brand new project.

[Mod]
The game currently uses Project Blue 1.18 as it's main engine.

[Bug Report Form]
If you find a bug, please submit it via the Bug report form so I can keep it on record. Thanks!

[Known Bugs]

There are a LOT of issues when playing after loading a saved game. This is not caused by the game, as it is an error with the source. If you play the demo, try to play it through without saving to ensure less bugs are encountered. This is merely an error with FPSCreator and not Alpha Project.

There's been a runtime error that appears ingame, but it should only appear if you load the game. Try to play the demo through without saving/loading to avoid the error.

Collision errors: Users have had issues with collisions while motion blur is on. To turn off motion blur, download the loader update with the motion setting enabled and then disable motion blur via options.

Alpha Project is a Scifi/Modern Horror genred first person shooter game. The game takes place in a not so far future where healthcare is controlled via private companies, hired by governments. You play through the eyes of James Hunt, the main protagonist. As you continue on in the game, you uncover the secrets and mysteries hidden from you.

Biotech Industries. An organisation known worldwide for their research into curing diseases noone thought was possible. Backed by the United Kingdom and the United States, they use government funding to extend their research in extending the capabilities of the human immune system.

In 2012, they successfully find a cure for a number of diseases: Acute myeloid leukemia, Influenza A virus subtype H5N1, Cystic fibrosis and Spherocytosis. This causes for them to be approved by NATO and access to what seems to be limitness resources.

In 2016, they have expanded to a number of branches all over the world. They begin testing the first ever immune system injection which is promised to make the subject immune to almost 70% of the worlds diseases.

In 2019, they cure the common cold.

In 2020, they began experimenting on chimpanzees to test to see if immunity passes through dna. The test was successful. One doctor, Doctor Mark Summers, didnt think that was enough, and came up with an injection containing a new serum. The test was a catosprophic failure. The chimpanzees behavour turned violent. After 5 minutes, it died. He tried countless times to find a soloution. All this was happening without the main branch of Biotech knowing about it.

You play the role of James Hunt, an ex army British security officer who migrated to the United States branch of Biotech, switching jobs to Biotech as a member of security. The job vacancy didnt specify what exactly he would be doing, although the promise of a high salary was enough to attract him in.

It was the first day you started work when everything went wrong..

Heres something I've been working on:

I've played a few of the fpsc games and I'm tired of the same music being played over and over. I'm trying to make the music change depending on whats happening, like a boss battle, a scary scene etc. I've attached a video with a demonstration of what I'll be using. =]

The trailer was very good mate, very good. The hud is nice.

But about the scenes, i liked them till 00:15. The others with zombies, were a bit empty, and a bit plain. But keep this up.

I am downloading the video of the sound thing.

Keep this up mate,

Awesome trailer! What music was that! And I like the HUD too! And it looks like the screen is shaking when you shoot/hit... If that's so, how? Looks awesome!

@Red Eye,
Thanks, and yeah, I know about the scenes being plain. It's because I filmed it on a beta level and there wasnt much in it at the time.

@Metal Devil123,
The music is from maryiln manson. And the screen shaking is from airmod. However other things are video effects.

This looks so freaking awesome! The trailer makes this look like it's the closest thing FPSC will ever get to commercial quality. Keep this up. The sound video was cool too.

Wouldnt it feel morally wrong though, to know that your imagination is that dull that you have to take ideas from someone else?

Of course if you want to take my work and claim it as your own, maybe its best I dont post about my game on this forum.

You need a © or ® symbol for this to be considered intelligent property. If you steal anything of Lewis's then you're breaking the law. He could ask for your IP from TGC, or ask that they turn you in, and chances are if you've actually stolen then they will. It people like you (that is, if you're being serious) that are causing things like DRM and SecuRom. 5 installs only...

Please don't steal, it's completely wrong and shows just how immature you really are.

@Lewis: You ever played Killing Floor? Not saying your stealing, but your story and trailer remind me a lot of it. In a good way.

Yeah, it's a commercial game now. Has to do with scientist doing military cloning research. I'll put up the link so this doesn't get too off-topic. http://www.killingfloorthegame.com/ Anyways, yours is noticeably different. I just thought you might have had some inspiration from it. Like I said above, game looks great! By the way, you have a good voice, will it be in the game as voice acting?

Thanks for the link. Look like an awesome game, although I havent seen it until now which means I havent had the chance to have inspiration from it =P I can see why you think that though!

And yeah, my voice will be in game. I'll be voicing James Hunt. I'll be getting more voice actors though from a close list i have on my msn

Update: To make things easier for the player, I've included PDA's (Personal Data Assistant) that the player can transfer data from that could help him through the game and could also uncover secrets, weapons, items etc.

You can find PDA's on dead bodies, on desks, inside lockers and other places.

Oh, and this is my first proper model too. Go me! =P

Attached is a video of the PDA fully working. Hope you like!

oooOOOooo got a little doom going on in this game too eh? This has potential. All these little details your including will make this game unique from the other fpsc games. Kinda like what im doing in one of my games. I have black bars on the top and bottom to give a "movie" like feel. With no huds at all. Than i have the logo in the bottom left. I also have light fixtures that when shot will break and the light marker will be triggered to go out. Anyways don't loose momentum with this game keep going strong

That PDA reminds me of the laptops in FEAR. Love your game so far keep up the great work. However I would make the PDA smaller as it’s supposedly meant to fit in someone’s pocket and it looks almost as big as the desk top. Unless that’s what you want it to be like.

You make a HUD in photoshop.

@SGJB, I'll try and reduce the size a bit, but I want the PDA's to be more noticable by the player. I'll experiment and try different sizes out.

Just make the hud in photoshop, load it with the setuplevel.fpi and display it. Simple.
