Woah, thanks guys, I've never felt more into singing before I turn 18 then right now...I guess I could do that online metal band, if Slayer ever realizes this is no joking matter and that it is an opportunity that he should grab and keep holding on to for all eternity. Or, you know what I mean.

And by "professional" I mean my 5th grade Music Teacher, because I got into a big chorus performance where only 15 (2 being alternates, not me,) got in out of about 100 that auditioned. I consider that good, but at that age, and with competition, I can never know for sure.

And if you really think I would be a good singer I could do it, but, even though Budokaiman brought up all those videos with young bands, I understand if you would rather have me at the managing position, for I may be young but I am rather mature (besides my Batman obsession) and would be just, if not more, fitting for that job.

...Should I not be taking all this as seriously as I am?

No! I thought you ment Jonathan Davis, Bruce Dickinson and Dio! lol, just kidding, but I had to do that joke.

I also got compliments from my music teacher on 7th and 8th grade about my singing voice. And a friend told me I sound a bit like Myanard when he heard me singing TOOL, but I know that's not true xD!

OH. I totally overlooked the question someone asked me:

Quote: "Have you [taken] vocal lessons, or do you plan to [take] vocal lessons?"

By the way, I did [this] because I forgot exact wording and I didnt want to all the way back to the other page to find out. Anyway, to answer it, in chorus they do some teaching. It doesn't go far from "sing from your diafram" or whatever, but I learned some techniques. Apart from that, my elective has always been Chorus, and I learn from that too. So, not really "vocal lessons" because I don't pay for it, but I do take "vocal classes" If that will suffice.

There is a big difference between rapping and rhyming.

"I saw a dog

Gotta make that NC joke! Thought I could never make one...

I'm terrible and I'm better then that. I kid.

When I look for a hobby
I spend all day
never re-a-liz-in what I'm meant-to-play-today
I like sing, I like to dance,
I got my fair share of acting, and romance,
but at the END....OF....THE DAY...
there's no hobby as good as making a good game
(I just lost the game)
THE GAME!!! CREATORS!!!!
Yeah I've got homework, I'll do it later
cuz those GAME!!! CREATORS!!
They're so good at what they do, I'd pay-da
work with The Game Creators.

Maybe I do need someone to right the lyrics for me.

I will chew it up and leave

By that, you mean that you would like this metalband idea to become serious, like in professional? Like, recording studio albums and do live gigs and touring?
Because in that case, I don't have a problem with recording songs and eventually sell them (I was already planning on doing an entire cd of mine). And, I always wanted to start a professional Metalband. But, we should always keep in mind that there's a problem with distances, ya know? I live in Belgium, I don't know where all other bandmembers live, so that might cause some issues (i.e. money to travel, time, etc...) to get together and perform live, ya know?
Maybe we should just start this and see how far we can go, right?
And it would be nice to have a second guitarist aswell. I could do both guitarparts (I already do them with my songs), but a second guitarist would add more variety to the overall sound, and make the band complete.

I think Cormorant ment a serious online band. I think.

And a second quitar can add more variety, but you know what adds more? A keyboard.

I PLAY KEYBOARD! Never took lessons, but I'm decent. Then again, I shouldn't be singer if I play keyboad, because singers need mobility, like sliding and crowd surfing and stuff.

I'm fine with both, but my mom may prefer online, because my mom isn't the kind of mom that will pay for a flight to Europe so you can play intense, explicit music with people you've never met.

Yeah, a keyboard musician would be great. I play keyboard too. Had music lessons (keyboard) while a was younger, during 6 years. Later I learned to play the drums too (on my own, while listening to bands like Slayer, Manowar, Venom, Queensrÿche, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Bathory, and many more...). And now, it's been almost ten years (or more) that I play the guitar.
The keyboards on my songs are done in FL Studio and my keyboard.

Quote: "I'm fine with both, but my mom may prefer online"

Well then, it will be online then for now, huh? I'd say, welcome in the band!

Which reminds me of something...how would we name the band...and what kind of metal would we play? You already have an idea of how my kind of metal sounds, right? Is it too fast or to brutal?

I think it would be better if you played drums then, because a drum player is harder to find then a keyboardist and a guitarist/bassist. Then again, you did take keyboard lessons, so you could do that well too. I would probably be best as singer, for I take *cough cough* vocal classes, I've made a *cough cough* CD with honestly terrible songs, not because of my singing but because of the instruments and the lyrics. Finally I should be vocalist because at my age I have the energy to run around and do the things a metal singer would do, like I said above.

Metal isn't my favorite, some songs I like but I prefer comedy, because that is so vague we could do whatever kind of song we feel like playing at the time, as long as it's funny.

When it comes to naming normally all members put in something they want to be a major factor in the band name, and they compromise.

One thing to remember is that metal is not about the image(running around on stage ect...), metal is about the music!

I'm pretty good with bass, but I have no good recording software (my videocamera is the best one now... for real) so I don't know if it would be any good for me to be in the band. I may just upload a video in YouTube playing something. Maby. Always wanted to do that.

Yes, it will look dull, if you just stand on the stage doing nothing and just play. This is what I call stage preformance:

Hmm, I guess you would have to fix that unless we decided to play together, then you could record at the same time as everyone else. Either that or get better equipment, or maybe you can use your video camera to take video, then separate the audio, and we could use that. Many ways you could fix that, and I would do that because if we're doing this, finding another bass player would be hard.

Yes, but stage presence is only one reason I listed in my list of reasons I would fit the job.

Yep, first we should definatly sort out who can join the band, before we go any further with this.

My favorite type of music is...Metal, of course. But we could add a touch of humor to it too, right? Like, funny lyrics? Or play every song backwards?
The funny thing of playing the songs in reverse would be, that the listener would think we play it normal.

Should we make a thread? Give it a few days to develop, make sure everyone who's interested gets a voice, you know?

I dont find that too funny (the reverse stuff) infact in my opinion we should stick with occasional jokes, and maybe an occasional light hearted song, you know? Give us diversity so everyone loves us.

A live drummer would be sweat, but for an online metalband it isn't really needed. I do all the drums on my songs in FL Studio, and it works great.

Quote: "Should we make a thread? Give it a few days to develop, make sure everyone who's interested gets a voice, you know?"

Yeah, maybe we should. But last time budokaiman and me were trying to start an online forum metalband, there weren't many volunteers, so be warned, okay? I really hope it works out better this time. Maybe budokaiman or Herakles could join in for second guitarist, who knows?

Quote: "I dont find that too funny (the reverse stuff)"

Yep, you're right. Singing your lyrics backwards would be difficult, wouldn't it? Hehehehe! Just kidding!

Quote: "we should stick with occasional jokes, and maybe an occasional light hearted song, you know? Give us diversity so everyone loves us."

Sure, I love jokes! And as for the light hearted stuff, you mean slows, right? Well, I like that too. And, I like different kinds of metal, so we could add a little of many genres and create songs for a lot of people to enjoy, right?

Cheers

Okay, I do hope it works, will you write it, or should I?

I agree with the whole "many genres" stuff. I wouldn't mind doing a slow, calm song so that we could make a first impression on a 6 year old girl, who would then listen to our other songs, and her brain would explode. (cool album cover idea)

Okay, so here's another demo song from me, one that I recorded specifically for my game BRIXOID which I'm developping for the Intel contest.
It's rather short (it's not complete yet), but it should give you some idea of the song, I guess.
It has some progressive metal influences, a bit of thrash, and heavy metal. I hope you like it.
Please comment on this one, okay?
Would you buy my game, just for this song or not?

So, here it is:

Enjoy!

Never really used FL Studios, so I don't know if you can do this (but I'd assume you could), but I think the song could use bass. It would add a lot more of a metal feel, with the bass, but I think that the writing is good. You definitely have your own style when you record your songs, and it's a good style.

Yep, you can. I'm considering to sell it between $2 and $5, so that's not much, right?
I'm curious, though. I don't have a laptop, so what are the resolutions you can have on a laptop?

Hum, the song does have bass, but I added too much reverb to it, I guess? I wanted to fade the bass and let the guitar come out more.
I'm glad you like my style! I try to have different styles in my music, and add my own touch to it, so it probably worked, right?
It's good to hear that you already thought of buying it. Thanks a million!
Also, what style of music would you define this particular song? Progressive? Thrash? Heavy Metal? Or something else?

I think your song ccould use a more loud bass! There's never enough of it! You tried slap bass for your songs?

Just saw a music video for a song from Ozzy's new album. Why on earth would he try to release something, without Zakk Wylde? The guitar work as mediocre at best, but the song itself wasn't too bad.

Because Ozzy said that the band started to loose uniqueness and sound too much like Black Label Society...
