Hello my friends. Welcome to the All New FPSC Community Mega pack thread. This is an Open Project. Anyone can contribute to the pack. The Theme is Obviously Sci-Fi.

Note: this is "not" a release of mine, but rather a themed Mega Model Pack that will be compiled from the submissions of the community developers, including me.

This is the first of many more themed, community packs to come ( I Hope). It will largly depend on the overall reponse to this release.

____________________________________________________________________________

Edit: This community Model pack is Dedicated to our lost friend Torrey "heltor" Roberts who always gave freely to this community, His Talent, Wit, and knowlege, to help those he could. He will be missed by many.

____________________________________________________________________________
Here's the required screenshot...

This is my first contribution to the pack. An animated mesh gate. I still need to grunge it up a bit.

C&C on the project is welcome and encouraged. Ideas are also welcome.

For my friend Heltor!

Looking nice guys.

Oh, and before I forget, Let me get this out of the way...

You can send all completed submissions to me via e-mail or link. All contributions will be compiled into the main pack directory. So be sure to include any special installation instructions if needed. ie. shader usage, scripts, etc.

All contributing developers will be credited in the usage licence.

Only "Free" non-restricted, full usage submissions will be included in the final release.

Media types: Anything goes here my friends, Segments, Entities, Scripts, HUDs, Shaders, Textures, Audio, etc. Anything you want, as long as it retains the overall theme of the pack, and can be used for the enhancement of the pack content.

Release date will be determined as the pack content progresses. Thanks!

If this goes well, we can do these theme packs now and again to feature new content from both old and new talants. And cover a wide variety of subjucts. Sci-fi, Horror, Modern warfare, WWII, etc.

So come and join us in this, "sure to be fun", Community event. And be sure to post any requests, and or, ideas here, so those who participate can gain info on the type of stuff everyone needs or wants.

You're Pal, CosmicP.

I've developed a new philosophy... I only dread one day at a time.

Can I use that in UDK, if that's alright with you Josh?

And for the record, this thread needs "of doom" at the end of the title...

I might contribute some stuff, if anything just to practice. I'm not very good at making...anything, really, but the only way to get better is practice.

This sounds very promising, it'd be good to see all of the modellers come together to make a killer Sci-Fi pack .

@Josh Mooney,

WOW!!! Are these free to use? And you don't need to include the BIN and DBO files when copying them to another FPSC or sharing them because FPSC automatically converts them to BIN and DBO .

SikaSina Games:
Yah, free to use. I was originally going to sell them in a pack but decided not too. Ah, and I honestly just copied them from my FPSC directory, so that's why the other files are present. I'll re-texture the wall segments that go with it and add them here when finished.

I grabed it from above, thanks. My original intension was to copile all submissions into an installer, But if you guys would rather just post your submissions here, That's fine with me. I can just post my stuff here as well.

Let me know how you want to proceed with this. I'll leave it up to you guys. Thanks.

Shouldn't you post all at once in one package.

It'll be pain to flip from page to page trying to download the stuff. (Just my opinion)

I guess anything that looks on the level of Cosmic's Scifi packs is acceptable. We also prefer shader supported stuff.

Where does it say I can't upload them here?

Anyway, Cosmo said he was compiling them for a big pack anyway, so why does it matter?

Logistics aside, I've always wanted to recreate Serenity in FPSC, just as a fan made level. I think I'll give that a go.

I love serenity, shame they got rid of it, Joss Whenden in an amazing writer, and Summer Glau's just plain hot. I might decide to release the cosmic scifi grunge edit seein as i'm not a very good modeler or texture maker. Ummm, however if Cosmic wants me to keep them just assosiated with his pack, then, well, i'll see what i can throw together and blender, and then try to Uv map it, ha ha ha.

Guys, Dont worry about what I think, This pack is for the community. If you feel you have something cool to contribute then by all means do it. Nothing is being judged here. This is a chance for everyone to come together and do a little something for the whole community. As well as show off your own talents.

It's amazing to see how good a lot of you guys have gotten in the last year.

For those who wish to post here on the thread, that's fine. They will still be added to the pack with the rest. You'll just get to mess with that stuff before release. A nice bit of a teaser if you ask me.

hey guys and gals

i made a character in truespace and rigged it in milkshape. i used the SAS skeleton and fpe file. i get it textured and animated in fpsc all fine. the thing is that he holds the gun backwards

i used the jt xporter and followed the tutorial in the official fpsc guide. i tried different combo's of rotating him in milkshape and changing the "fixnewy" from 0-180 and nothing seems to work.

this is my first model for fpsc and i wanted to include it in this pack........ anyone have any advice.

I love having a community project where everyone can take part. There are so many ways to contribute, whether it be sounds, scripts, models, segments, textures, HUD's..... the list goes on and on. Thanks in advance to all who contribute.

This is a cool idea, Cosmic.

Uh, if somebody wants to make some natural looking (slumped, legs and arms in different positions when on the floor or up against a wall) dead bodies alien or whoever I think that would be useful in a game. I'm not sure how difficult that would be but since there is no animation that would be a plus.

I decided to make some stuff.

Starting with a fullscreen HUD.

It comes with a script that animates the health bar. It's set to have 100 health. (Though you can edit the script yourself, I commented it heavily so you know what you're doing. ) It also flashes when you have 15 or less health.

Have fun.

Wow, thats pretty nice shadow, we should have a hud off, i'll start makeing one now.... Crap, i don't know how to get all the health stuff working..... I'm stupid, i'll just make a Hud image without health and everything, and then.... if someone gives me some instruction then i'll do the health thing.
