It helps to lower the ambience, add lights, and maybe use a shader.

Just plopping it in there with no lighting and at full ambience is never going to look all that great.
You have to set up the scene to have it look awesome. (like Bond does for his screenshots)

Anayar: Looks great!

Each night the Boogie man checks under his bed for Chuck Norris, but he wakes up several times throughout the night to make sure General Jackson isn't under it.

FPSC crashes every time I add a static light (Thats why I dont have them in the pics.). If I lower the ambience without a light the scene looks too dark! Cant use a shader bcause these are made in sketchup...

@anayar

Nice models but why not use your own textures? Not putting you down at all in fact great usage of premade textures. Just saying your models would probably look amazing with textures made for your models instead of textures made to fit your model. Sketchup can be a pain so why not switch to Blender? The new 2.5 is pretty easy to learn. Let me know if you need help with the models UV maps and maybe I can rework a few of those for you so you can have your own textures. I only say this cause I really like your imagination and the models desirve their very own textures.

Looks good my friend. All of your submissions are great. The airbus uses a texture by Skyshi. If we dont have permission, we cant use it. Do you want me to do a retexture? If so, no problem. We've got to keep everything on the up, and up. Let me know buddy. Thanks.

DonWON: Thanks buddy, Got 'em, and added them. Thanks!

Wow! this thing is getting huge. And most of you have not seen some of the awesome goodies that this pack contains.

I'll be wrapping this up soon, so if anyone wishes to make any last minute contributions, nows the time to do so. I'm still testing all the media to make sure it's game-ready when you download.

I'll post a few more screens soon, but I don't want to spoil the suprises in store for everyone.

So clear out some space on your hard drives, The release is on the horizon.

Bootlicker: Yep! In fact, I'm hiding behind that bush across from your house, and I'm releasing this as soon as you pull out of the driveway.

No, really, We're at around 1 1/2 gigs at the moment (uncompressed). And I'd be willing to say that 2 weeks is a fair estimate. So you'll be able to grab it as soon as you get home. Have a safe trip buddy!

ALRIGHT!! Way to go Brian. Finally, a good normal bump shader for animated entities.

Are there any special texture requirements for the shaders'use?

anayar: Yep, got it, reworked it, and wrote a simple tutorial for you to check out.

Download tutorial: .http://www.mediafire.com/?zz585ptr60ma0cy

Others: This tutorial shows the workflow I used to redo this model to the above version. Download if you think it could help you out. Your programs may differ from what I use, but the method is the same.

Edit: Passed virus scan. See next page, Thanks.

anayar: Dont take this the wrong way, Your not "Bad", as you put it. You just need to refine your work, and perhaps consider changing the tools you use. Your skill is obvious, just work at it, and take it to the next level. And remember, good UV Mapping is "very" important if you want your stuff to look right.

I told you in an earlier post that I would make a tutorial for you that included UV Mapping. I'm just keeping my word.

Good luck my friend. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much CP. This is much apreciated.

Well... I get what you mean, but compared to many others around this forum, my skills are nothing. But I will not take that as discouragement, but instead use it as an incentive to get better.

Thank you for your support

anayar: No problem brother, Just trying to help out.

I've seen the models your doing on your thread , and they're pretty good. Keep it up, and you'll be as good, or better than most other folks here in no time.

It just takes commitment, and a lot of hard work.

Starmind: Got your e-mail, That's great news! Good luck on the new project. With you in the drivers seat, it's sure to be Awesome!

A world of thanks my friend, for the fantastic stuff you've contributed to this community pack. As one of the primary contributors, you've really helped make this something special.

After the release of this pack, I too, plan to take a break for awhile and work toward further improving my skills. Bond1 is making a much desired tutorial at my request, and I plan on diving in to it as soon as he has it completed. (I cant wait!).

I've decided to begin work on a new sci-fi weapons pack. At first I was going to release them in this, But I figured it would be better to focus my efforts on the new guns for a specialized release. that way I can put 100% into getting them just right. Rather than rushing to get them ready for this release.

I also have plans to build a special model pack for TGC. I thought it would be a worthwhile effort to try and make at least one "Official" model pack, to show my support for the company.

If for no other reason, to be able to say "Yeah!,I did it!" I think it would be cool to see a pack "I made" up there on the offical site, alongside all of the other top notch developers. And, it would make a nice addition to the list of achievments in my life.

Note: for those who have asked, The next Community pack will be "Horror Themed". No time is set for the start of the project as of yet. just giving you a heads up on whats next in line.

Thanks.

da2020: Looks good bro, I need to let you know, were winding this up soon, so if you want them included in the release, you've got about 2 weeks to get them ready. Would love to have them. Thanks.
